After 10 years on the road, this founder is proving that intentionality, not hustle, is the future of remote work.
If you’ve ever dreamed of working remotely from a beach in Bali or a café in Lisbon, Christina Voll has likely walked that road already. A digital nomad for the past decade, Christina’s career has spanned social media marketing, business development, and personal branding. But what is her most personal and impactful work yet? Rise Remotely - a platform she created to help others thrive in the remote lifestyle.
Originally launched in 2021 with 10 certified coaches and instructors, Rise Remotely focused on helping people either transition to remote work or improve how they did it. But like many founders, Christina has been through her share of evolution - and now, so has her business.
A New Chapter: Co-Living, Wellness & Slow Growth
After pausing Rise Remotely, Christina is preparing to relaunch it this year with a fresh vision: curated co-living bootcamps designed for remote marketers and wellness-minded nomads.
“The digital nomad lifestyle is exciting, but it can be exhausting - especially in the early years,” she says. “People hit burnout fast. My focus now is helping them sustain the lifestyle in a healthier, more intentional way.”
The first version of Rise Remotely offered online education. The next will be more immersive, community-driven, and grounded in well-being, starting with a series of wellness retreats and co-living bootcamps in Portugal and Spain.
Building Alone, But Not in Isolation
Christina is a solo founder, but not without support. She’s built a small team around her consulting business, which funds her time as she works on Rise Remotely’s second act. Her challenge today? Balancing client work with building something new. But she’s clear on one thing: she’s done compromising her well-being for growth.
“I used to pour everything into my business. I didn’t take an income, and I stressed myself out. This time, I’m approaching it differently - more intentionally, with better time management and boundaries.”
That sense of intentionality is at the heart of everything Christina is building now. Whether it’s her personal wellness practices (pulling out a yoga mat in any country she’s in) or her approach to community-building, she’s focused on creating work and life on her terms.
Advice for Aspiring Founders: Just Start
Christina has one message for anyone sitting on the edge of starting something new: stop overthinking and take the leap.
“Some of the people I spoke to through Rise Remotely years ago still haven’t taken that first step. They’ve been dreaming about the nomadic lifestyle for ages. My advice? Just go do it. You don’t have to have it all figured out.”
That mindset helped her push past perfectionism during her first launch, and it’s what’s driving her forward again now. Even if the original version didn’t hit big revenue goals, it created something more valuable - momentum and meaningful connections in the global nomad space.

Looking Ahead: Impact, Slowness, and Simplicity
In five years, Christina hopes to still be making a positive impact - but on a more human scale.
“I want to help people, but I also want to live slowly. If I have a family someday, I want to work 20 hours a week, not 60. I think when we’re grounded and taking care of ourselves, we can give more to others.”
As someone who began her journey in fast-paced, full-time travel, Christina now calls herself a bit of a grandma - in the best way. Her version of success today is rooted in balance, freedom, and the simple pleasures of life.
And honestly? That feels like the future of remote work we all need.
